ABOUT
Hi folks, nice of you to stop by! I’m Lola (Laura) Côté—creator, caregiver, former professional athlete, and the kind of person who’ll befriend your dog before I befriend you.
I was raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, by two hardworking parents who taught me the recipe for success: dream big and always do your best. Both were high school teachers and athletic coaches who have since been inducted into the Saskatoon Sports Hall of Fame.
Following their lead, I competed in indoor volleyball at the national and international levels, representing Team Saskatchewan and Team Canada Juniors. My passion for the sport took me to Memphis, TN, where I earned a full scholarship to play NCAA Division I volleyball for the University of Memphis Tigers.
As a Tiger, I accomplished my goal of making history. I became the starting setter at the ripe age of seventeen, broke a few records, became the All-Time Assists Leader, and was honoured with All-American recognition—all while earning my bachelor's degree in Business Management, with a major in Marketing. After graduation, I moved to Europe to fulfill my dream of playing volleyball professionally.
For years, my identity was wrapped up in athletics. I lived and breathed competition, pushing my body to its limits and beyond. When compounding injuries led me to retire my jersey, I was devastated. Letting go of that lifestyle was difficult, but it also taught me an important lesson: how to rebuild.
I stepped into the corporate world and spent over a decade in sales, marketing, and customer support roles. While I gained valuable experience, I craved work that connected me to a higher purpose. That longing became even more intense when I was diagnosed with chronic illness. I learned firsthand what it means to navigate daily health challenges, to have good days and bad, and to live in a world that isn’t inherently accommodating to people with disabilities. But I also discovered the power of gentle care—how compassion, patience, and small acts of kindness can restore our dignity and hope. This led me to want to work as a caregiver.
Throughout my life, music and movies have been my creative escape—inspiring and shaping my ever evolving perspective. I developed an even deeper appreciation for the art of storytelling when I studied acting for film & television at the Vancouver Film School. In 2021, I produced my first award-winning short film and shortly after, LOLASEA was founded.

Whether I’m creating or care-giving, my mission remains the same: work with integrity, do my best, and make a positive impact.
Because every life, like every story, deserves to be honoured.
If you’d like to work together, feel free to reach out! I’d love to hear from you.
